THE
VINEXPO INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION - BORDEAUX FRANCE
- 2007
Once again this year just like every two years since 1989, CHATEAU KEFRAYA’s team has gone to Bordeaux for the 2007 edition of the international exhibition of Vinexpo, the biggest convention of wine and spirits in the world. For the third consecutive time, the majority of Lebanese producers were present and united under the same “Lebanon” pavilion.
During the five days, CHATEAU KEFRAYA’s stand welcomed a multitude of international connoisseurs, producers and distributors who discovered, among other wines, the 2006 vintage of “Pleasure Wines” and Blanc de Blancs, product of the last harvest, miraculously picked few days after the end of the July – August 2006 hostility.
The first question generally asked by our visitors was “how are you able to carry out your activities, despite the critical situation prevailing in Lebanon ever since 2005”? The answer being nothing could be worse than the war of 1975 to 1990, a period during which CHATEAU KEFRAYA was established in an unconscious surge filled with passion for wine-growing. CHATEAU KEFRAYA surely owes a great part of the success attained to the visitors of the exhibition, whom ever since 1989 have shown their confidence in the quality of its products coming from the Lebanese soil. Thus, it is a great pleasure to welcome them again and again every two years and to share with them this same passion in a friendly as well as brotherly atmosphere.
THE
LONDON INTERNATIONAL WINE & SPIRITS FAIR 2006
In view of expanding its notoriety in the English
market, CHATEAU KEFRAYA participated to the London
International Wine and Spirits Fair 2006, from May
16 through 18, at the stand of its new distributing
company, ENOTRIA WINECELLARS; the perfect occasion
to meet with the very professional customers of ENOTRIA
WINECELLARS, mainly composed of important restaurant
owners and sommeliers. The interest and the appreciation
expressed towards CHATEAU KEFRAYA products showed,
once more, their great potential in the English market.
THE
DIONYSALIES 2005
Every year, at an imprecise date of the month of October,
the enchanting environment and unique character of
Château Kefraya welcomed a festival of vine
and wine, baptized "Dionysalies" to join
homage to Dionysos - the Greek god of the vine and
the suffix "alies" which means "exposition".
This year, 1200 people among of which the "Friends
of Château Kefraya" precipitated to this
festival after having impatiently awaited it during
the twelve months of the year. Also present at this
festival, the local and international distributors
of Château Kefraya, in addition to politicians
and members of the diplomatic corps.
Many
festivities were held during this celebration. Guests
wined and dined in a jazzy mood amongst pavilions,
associating each wine with a culinary specialty presented
to the guests. Other pavilions were devoted to the
launching of the latest vintage of Kefraya such as
the "Blanc de Blancs", the "Château
Kefraya" and the legendary "Comte de M",
with its mysterious name.
The "Dionysalies" were indeed the perfect
occasion to announce the arrival and to sample the
taste of the "Kefraya Nouveau", the new
season's wine of Château Kefraya, which follows
in the footsteps of the very popular "Beaujolais
Nouveau" as well as the latest high range white
wine of Château Kefraya, raised in oak barrels
and named "Casta Diva"; evoking an extract
of "Norma" by Vincenzo Bellini.
Finally,
a pavilion dedicated to "Art and Culture"
witnessed the varnishing by the painter herself Mouna
Bassili Sehnaoui, of the painting selected to adorn
this year's "Château Kefraya 2002"
bottle label. Within this pavilion was also exposed
the book entitled "Wines of Lebanon", the
new reference par excellence of Lebanon's wine's world
and Lebanon written by the journalist Michael Karam.
